Pierre Cloutier, Regional recipient of the Dollard-Morin Award in Volunteering in Sport and Leisure for the Island of Montreal.

Dollard-Morin, Pierre CloutierWe wish to congratulate Pierre Cloutier, past president of Lac St-Louis Swimming Association, who received the prestigious Dollard-Morin Volunteering in Sports and Leisure Awards last Friday in Quebec City for his great involvement of over fifteen years in the swimming world.  He is appearing on this picture with Michèle Castonguay, president of Lac St-Louis Swimming Association after getting his Dollard-Morin Award.

Pierre started his involvement in swimming, like many parents as a volunteer and official during swim meets.  He quickly climbed the ladder with being involved as a parent on the club’s board of directors, to rapidly step on as president of the Lac St-Louis Swimming Association for eight seasons, and with the Quebec Swimming Federation’s Board of Directors for a few years.

Great event organizer, Pierre Cloutier knows how to organize great events whether at the regional, provincial, national and very soon international level.

As president of Lac Saint-Louis Swimming Association, he successfully relaunched and maintained programs and activities, such as the developmental regional league, the annual Nata-Celebration gala  and the regional training camps for age groups swimmers.  He well knew how to revive participation of all clubs to the Quebec Games program, which led to great results in the last 45th Provincial Finals held in Gatineau in 2010.

Pierre also devotes himself with the application of the City of Montreal hosting national and international events.  As co-president of “Les Amis de la natation”,  Pierre was engaged this year at hosting great national events such as the 2011 Canadian Masters Nationals and Age Group Canadian Championships meets.

On the international side, he actively worked toward getting the  FINA  2014 World Masters Championships to be held in Montreal.  He is now the general manager for this important event where over 15,000 athletes will be competing in the aquatic sports of diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and swimming.

Pierre Cloutier has been a great asset to provide all swimmers optimal conditions and his work has enabled the City of Montreal to distinguish itself with its installations and expertise promising to be successful for great events.  He is well proven to be a go-getter!
